Kieron Brandt

Kieron is a 4th year undergraduate student at McGill University, where he studies physics with a minor in computer science. He first discovered his passion for research during a summer internship, during which he developed instrumentation for a radio cosmology group to study the early Universe. Since then, he’s turned his attention to exoplanetary science, where he is eager to apply his programming and physics experience to study the diverse worlds around us.

This summer, Kieron is continuing his work on characterizing the compositions of rocky exoplanets under the supervision of Prof. Nicolas Cowan and Dr. Casey Brinkman. This research aims to use radial velocity and transit surveys, combined with planetary interior modelling and Bayesian hierarchical models, to determine the relationship between the compositions of planets and the abundances of their host stars.
