Lauren Harrison

Lauren is currently in her 4th year at the University of Victoria in the Honours Physics and Astronomy program. She is excited to join the team at McGill University under the direction of Professor Nicolas Cowan. Lauren first found her love for physics in high school, and since then, has been fascinated by the night sky. Being an intern at the Trottier Institute for Research on Exoplanets is a dream come true for her, and she is looking forward to getting involved in this exciting field of research.

Last summer, Lauren had the opportunity to participate in research on ultra-faint dwarf galaxies (UFDs) at the University of Victoria. In her research, she studied the radial velocities and iron abundances of stars in various UFDs. Lauren enjoys getting involved in public outreach at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory in Victoria, BC, where she provides tours of the 1.8m Plaskett Telescope and gives presentations during the Saturday Night Star Parties. In her free time, she also enjoys participating in triathlons and spending time outside.
