Vincent Savignac

2023 Summer intern, 2022 Trottier Summer Intern, former McGill University B.Sc. Student

Vincent is now a Master student. See his new page here : https://exoplanetes.umontreal.ca/en/team-member/vincent-savignac-2/

Vincent completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics at McGill University in April 2023. He will be starting his Master’s degree in Physics at McGill University in Fall 2023. During his first summer internship in 2021, he worked with Professor Elliot Paquette’s research group in the Department of Mathematics at McGill University, where he applied random matrix theory to optimize artificial neural networks. In 2022, Vincent developed an interest in exoplanet research during his summer internship at iREx. Under the supervision of Professor Eve Lee, he studied the impact of entropy advection in a gaseous environment on the formation of super-Earths and mini-Neptunes.

Before starting his master’s at McGill, Vincent is thrilled to join iREx again under the supervision of Professor Eve Lee. This summer, he will probe the interiors of sub-Neptunes using their tidal and rotational distortions
