As part of Science Literacy Week that takes place between September 19 and 25th, 2022, astrophysicists from the Institute for research on exoplanets are available to visit your library!
In our presentation, you will learn about the work of astrophysicists and the topics they are passionate about, such as exoplanets – planets outside our Solar System – and the search for life beyond our planet. You will also be able to discover some of the wonders of the Universe revealed through the James Webb Space Telescope and other instruments we use.
Small nods to mathematics – this year’s theme for Science Literacy Week and an important tool for astrophysicists – will appear at times in the presentation.
We will also be able to answer various questions related to planets, stars, galaxies, black holes, life elsewhere in the Universe and much more!
This activity lasts about 1 hour and is intended for a varied audience, including children. The duration can be adapted. We can present in French or in English.
The activity will take place during the week of September 19, 2022. To register, please fill out this form and we will contact you shortly! Please note that for practical reasons, with some exceptions, we can only visit libraries that are within a 30-minute drive of the MIL campus of the Université de Montréal (1375 ave. Thérèse-Lavoie-Roux). However, it is possible to schedule virtual conferences, via Zoom.
