Marie-Eve Desrochers obtains the Relève étoile Louis-Berlinget prize of FRQNT

Rémi Quirion, Quebec’s Chief Scientist, announces that Marie-Eve Desrochers, a MSc student and member of iREx, receives in August 2018 the Prix Relève Étoile du Fonds de recherche du Québec for her scientific article presenting the discovery of a brown dwarf orbiting a low-mass star.

The concours Relève étoile des Fonds de recherche du Québec recognizes the exceptional research contributions of university students (master’s, doctorate), postdoctoral fellows and members of professional orders who are enrolled in advanced research training programs in any of the areas covered by the three Fonds de recherche du Québec. The Fonds Nature et technologies prize is named after Louis Berlinguet (1926-2018) to honor this former biochemistry professor and vice-dean (research) for the Faculty of medecine of Université Laval and recognize his remarkable career in research and its outstanding contribution to the building of a research ecosystem in Quebec.
