Katrina Jabs

2025 Trottier Summer Intern, University of Calgary B.Sc. Student

Katrina is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Calgary pursuing an astrophysics degree with honours. Throughout her studies, she has developed an increasing interest in cosmology and exoplanet research. Katrina’s passion for astronomy has taken her to many different places. She worked at a planetarium in Jasper National Park, a registered dark sky preserve, and travelled to Mauna Kea for a group study program to explore some of the world’s most renowned observatories. More recently, Katrina has worked as a physics tutor to inspire the next generation of young scientists.

This summer, Katrina is beyond thrilled to conduct formal research under Professor René Doyon. Through this project, she looks forward to learning more about iREX and exoplanet research and meeting some incredible people who share her love of astrophysics.
