Are you a young girl from 2 to 18 years old? Do you like space? Do you ask yourself questions about the Universe?
The Institute for Research on Exoplanets in association with the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic invites you to participate in the Junior Astrophysicist Contest, organised during of Space Week 2020 (October 4 to 10) and World Girls’ Day (October 11).
You must fill out this form by October 26, 2020, at 11.59PM, where you must answer the following questions in 50 to 100 words:
You must also include a photo or video of yourself that showcases your curiosity and interest in space. It can show you with a space-related piece of artwork that you have done (drawing, painting, or other) or that you like, with a book on the subject that you have read, or with a place that you have visited. If you choose to send a video, you can also talk about about your interest in space.
In addition, your parent (if you are under 18 years old) must provide their email address and an authorisation for us to use your photo or video. Note that this authorisation is not required to participate in the draw.

There will be three winners: one from preschool (2-6 years old), one from the primary school (7-12 years old) and one from the secondary school/college (13-18 years old). The winners will be randomly selected from among those who correctly filled out the form.

You will also have the chance to chat with one of our astrophysicists for 30 minutes and ask her all your questions about space and the life of an astrophysicist.
The draw will take place on October 27, 2020. You will be contacted by email if you win. You will then have to send us your mailing address so that we can send you the prize of your choice and organise the video conference with an astrophysicist!
