Alexandra Rochon

2024 Summer Intern, McGill University B.Sc. Student

Passionate about space science, Alexandra begins her final semester of a B.Sc. of Physics and Geophysics at McGill University this fall. With her sights set on graduate studies in the field of exoplanets, she is accumulating research experience.

Since last year, she has been working on a numerical modelling project for the ice sheets of tidally-locked exoplanets, supervised by Prof. Natalya Gomez, Prof. Nicolas Cowan and Dr. Thomas Navarro, at the Trottier Space Institute at McGill. At the same time, she has been working on the characterization of hot Jupiters for over a year with Dr. Lisa Dang.

Alexandra is looking forward to undertaking a new project under her supervision and that of Professor René Doyon this summer. She will develop a tool to analyze data from the James Webb Space Telescope to study the atmosphere of rocky exoplanets.
