Alexandra Rochon

2023 Summer Intern, McGill University B.Sc. Student

With a passion for space science, Alexandra is entering her fourth year of a B.Sc. in physics and geophysics at McGill University. She is currently working on a numerical modelling project supervised by Dr. Thomas Navarro and professors Natalya Gomez and Nicolas Cowan at the Trottier Space Institute at McGill. The project aims to couple climate and ice sheet models to study the water cycle on tidally-locked exoplanets.

Along with this, she is pursuing a project that began as part of a research course with Dr. Lisa Dang from iREx, where she is analyzing a SPITZER phase curve of the hot Jupiter Kelt-20b. For the past year, she has been improving her skills in science communication as an undergraduate teaching assistant for an astrophysics course. She is also involved in the McGill Society for Physics Students, as well as the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion departmental committee.
