2023 Trottier Summer Intern, Université de Montréal B.Sc. Student

This summer, thanks to the Marie Curie Fellowship, Sophie is doing an internship in René Doyon’s group with post-doctoral researcher Clémence Fontanive. With Clémence, she studies extrasolar objects detected by direct imaging to classify them more accurately as brown dwarfs or planets.

It was during the three years of a double DEC in pure sciences and music that Sophie’s interest in physics was confirmed and led her to enrol in a bachelor’s degree in physics at the Université de Montréal, with the aim of pursuing graduate studies in astrophysics/astronomy and contributing to research in this fast-growing scientific discipline that has always fascinated her.
