Maya Tatarelli

MSc Student, McGill University

Maya obtained her BSc in Physics and Computer Science at McGill University in the spring of 2022. She is now working on her MSc in theoretical astrophysics at McGill, supervised by Prof. Eve Lee. Her MSc thesis focuses on studying planet formation using GIZMO, a Lagrangian fluid simulations code.

During the summer of 2021, she completed a research position in the McGill School of Computer Science under the supervision of Prof. Brigitte Pientka and Prof. Xujie Si. Her focus was on understanding type errors in functional programming and developing a system that locates type errors in typed programming languages. In 2022, she completed an eight month research position under the supervision of Prof. Siva Nadarajah in the McGill Computational Aerodynamics Group. This research included contributing to the development of a parallel highorder multi-dimensional unstructured PDE solver (PHiLiP) and focused on goal-oriented (aerodynamic-based) mesh adaptation.
