Salma Salhi is a third year undergraduate honours astrophysics student at the University of Calgary. She began her undergraduate career in software engineering but switched into astrophysics after her second year out of a lifelong passion for astronomy and physics. For the past year, she has conducted research on structural brain networks under Dr. Christoph Simon as a member of the Institute for Quantum Science and Technology (IQST). She spent over a year on the University of Calgary’s satellites team as experiment lead, responsible for the integration of three payloads on the university’s first ever CubeSat. This summer, Salma will be working with novel James Webb data to further examine several exoplanets in the Trappist-1 system, under Dr. René Doyon’s supervision.
