Shi Lin Sun

MSc student, Université de Montréal

Shi Lin started M.Sc. studies at Université de Montréal in August 2024, under the supervision of Björn Benneke.

His research focuses on the 3D characterization of exoplanet atmospheres using transit observations from JWST. As a planet passes in front of its host star, light rays graze the planet’s atmosphere, allowing the telescope to sample different regions of the atmosphere.

Shi Lin completed his undergraduate studies in April 2024 at McGill University with a Major in physics and a Minor in computer science. During the final year, he was involved in a research project under the supervision of Andrew Cumming, where they aimed to determine the composition of neutron star envelopes from the shape of their cooling curves.
