Thomas explores the atmospheres of terrestrial planets with numerical climate models. He finished a PhD at Sorbonne University (Paris) on the Martian water cycle and data assimilation of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter with a Martian atmospheric model. He then joined UCLA to interpret Akatsuki’s observations of the Venusian atmosphere, and later the Trottier Space Institute where he collaborates with Nick Cowan to study the climates of exoplanets in synchronous rotation around their star.
He is now a NASA Participating Scientist of the Akatsuki mission at the Space Science Institute, but he continues to collaborate with iREx researchers on numerous projects.
