Érika Le Bourdais, a master’s student at the Université de Montréal since September 2022, has won a Bourse d’engagement from the Fonds d’amélioration à la vie étudiante of Université de Montréal. This award recognizes her outstanding commitment to the activities of the Physics department and the exemplary role model she is for the UdeM student community. The scholarship was presented at the UdeM Gala de l’engagement étudiant, held on May 3.

In 2021-2022, Érika was involved as a member of the Physics department assembly, as the delegate for undergraduate academic affairs within the physics student association, as a volunteer at the La Planck student café, as well as on the studies, program auto-evaluation and centennial celebration committees, and on the Physics department psychological health committee.

“Ms. Le Bourdais’s commitment to the Department of Physics is exceptional, both in its scope and impact,” notes David Lafrenière, professor in the Department of Physics and iREx member. “Notably, the workload survey conducted at her initiative and under her leadership in Fall 2021 was a key element in our department’s decision to create our first departmental committee on psychological health.”

Given her longstanding contributions to her academic community, iREx members are really proud to have Érika on our team! Congratulations, Érika!
