2021 Soirée d’initiation à la recherche en astrophysique

The Institute for Research on Exoplanets, in collaboration with the Department of Physics of the Université de Montréal and the Centre de recherche en astrophysique du Québec organizes the Soirée d’initiation à la recherche en astrophysique, an online version of the popular Journées d’initiation à la recherche en physique, held annually at the Université de Montréal.

This free activity is for cegep students, and will take place on Wednesday, February 10th, from 7 to 9 pm. Register here: www.bit.ly/SIRA_2021. The event will be in French.

During this evening, you will have the opportunity to meet many graduate students in physics, and to learn more about astrophysics, one of the fields of research of the physics department of the Université de Montréal.

7:20 pm Department of Physics, careers and issues of inclusion and diversity in physics, by Jacinthe Pillette, from the D-PHY committee.
7:45 pm Presentation of astrophysics research at the Université de Montréal with Marie-Eve Naud, astrophysicist, and grad student-researchers Olivia Lim (iREx), François Hardy (white dwarf research group), and Myriam Prasow-Émond (X-TRA, iREx). Presentation of the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic with Frédérique Baron, astrophysicist.
