Ali Cachero

2025 Trottier Summer Intern, McGill B.Sc. Student

Ali has just completed her second year at McGill University, where she is pursuing a joint major in physics and geophysics. She is eager to get into exoplanet research for its combination of observational physics and planetary sciences.

She developed an interest in space sciences in elementary school when she participated in the international youth contest Cubes in Space. Through that program, she got the incredible opportunity to research magnetic behaviours in the ionosphere for the development of space junk clean-up technology. Ali strives to pursue productive and sustainable research that broadens our understanding of climate and planetary evolution and loves to blend her studies in physical sciences with her passions for the arts and the outdoors.

She is excited to be joining Björn Benneke’s team at UdeM this summer where she will contribute to his work in characterizing diverse exoplanets.
