Ikram Beghdadi

2025 Instrumentation Summer Intern, Polytechnique Montréal graduate

Ikram is completing a mechanical engineering degree at Polytechnique Montréal. She is passionate about research and has completed several research micro-internships in various engineering fields, ranging from aerospace at the LAVA Laboratory (Laboratory of Vibration and Acoustic Analysis) to the POLAR Laboratory (Laboratory for Assistive and Rehabilitation Technologies) at Polytechnique.

After an internship at INRS (Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique) in Quebec, she discovered her interest in 3D design. This experience led her to further develop her skills in this field, enabling her to contribute to the design of an exoskeleton for individuals with muscular atrophy as part of the Métis technical society.

She is a recipient of several undergraduate research excellence scholarships from NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada). This summer, thanks to the Instrumentation Grant, she is doing an internship at the Université de Montréal. As part of this internship, she is working on the design of astronomical instruments at the Experimental Astrophysics Laboratory (LAE) of the Mont-Mégantic Observatory (OMM).
