Samuel Boucher

2025 & 2024 Summer Intern, Université de Montréal B.Sc. Student

Samuel is an undergraduate student in mathematics and physics at Université de Montréal. He will join IREx as an intern for the summer of 2025 under the supervision of Lisa Dang. This represents to him a perfect opportunity to put to good use his great enthusiasm for astronomy and astrophysics as well as his profound desire to understand the universe and discover its hidden structures.

After working on the photometric analysis of images taken by the mid-infrared instrument (MIRI) of the James Webb Space Telescope with Loïc Albert, he will explore the field of exoplanets from a different angle this summer. Indeed, he will be working on a project to map the atmospheres of hot Jupiters. This project will allow him, among other things, to become more familiar with the use of spectroscopic phase curves.
